Americano
He's drivin' a jeep
But he ain't in the Army
Gets all
his cigarette money
From his mommy
Dressed like a rootin' tootin'
Texas
cowboy
But this lone ranger's
Never seen a horse
He wanna be Americano
Americano, Americano
He wants to
drive a Cadillac
Now he's chasing showgirls
Smokin' Camels,whiskey and
soda
Now he's never goin' back
He's cruisin streets for gold
Dressed in designer clothes
Brother if your too slow
You'd better not blink
Or you'll wind up in the
drink
Wanna be Americano
Americano,Americano
Gotta buy a
diamond ring
'Cause that's his baby's
Favorite thing
Okay,all
right,yeah man
Wanna be American
Wanna be American
He's in the land where
Anything can happen
Reach for the
stars
Grab that golden ring
Just remember he's Americano
well watch it
pal
'Cause he'll take everything
He wanna be Americano
Americano,Americano
He wants to
drive a Cadillac
Now he's chasing showgirls
Smokin' Camels,whiskey and
soda
Now he's never goin' back
He likes that rock and roll
He's playing baseball
Loves
Marilyn Monroe
A coca cola Joe
And a pizza pie to go
Wanna be Americano
Americano,Americano
Gotta buy a
diamond ring
'Cause thats his baby's
Favorite thing
Okay,all right,yeah
man
Wanna be American
Wanna be American
Wanna be American
Breath Of Life
You stepped in and dark turned to light
I knew right there
you were the breath of life
Just when I'd given up the fight
I knew right
there you were the breath of life
Just when the morning air lost its bitter
bite
You never think your heart will butterfly
Ballerina don't you dance
your life away
Those years meant nothing till this cold December day
You stepped back to say goodnight
I knew right there you
were the breath of life
We looked up at a blinding light
I knew right
there you were the breath of life
I never thought that I could say those
words again
I think you know the ones I'm sure you know the ones
I've been
hiding alone in the night
On and on like a dream that never ends
So come
on out don't say goodnight
Out of the shadows to the neon light
Meet you
down where that Dixieland plays
Leave all your troubles gonna dance 'em away
Drop my hands by my side let the hours slip away
Don't say
nothing let the music play
Twenty years on down when the time is right
I'll turn around and know you were the breath of life
Echo Park
I heard your voice in Echo Park last night
I wasn't sure
how many times it rang out through the night
I felt the breeze and the hearts
through the air
I felt your eyes lookin' right through me
I heard your
voice in Echo Park last night
Was a summer to remember
You were something
to behold
A regular Marilyn Monroe
I heard your voice in Echo Park last
night
I used to swim in Echo Park Lake all night
We took our
clothes off stayed out half the night
Well come on now
We're gonna do it
right
I'll take your hand and we can swim together right now all night
It
was summer to remember
You were something to behold
A regular Marilyn
Monroe
I heard your voice in Echo Park last night
I felt the breeze and the hearts through the air
I felt
your eyes lookin' right through me
I heard your voice in Echo Park last night
Well if I wanted to come back
I think there's something you should know
I
wouldn't change a thing oh no no no
I heard your voice in Echo Park last
night
I heard your voice in Echo Park last night
I heard your voice in
Echo Park last night
I heard your voice in Echo Park last night
Ghost Radio
As I came acrose the Pecos and broke west of the line
This
thunderstorm was running and it ran me out of time
So I was racing through
the rain with this rig from Tennessee
When a voice cut through the static,
bringing comfort home to me
They were singing
I ain't sittin' in no shack
Got me a
Ford right out the back
So come on and roll me over
If I ain't there in
nothing flat
With a honky-tonk attitude
I'll be doing the straight line
swing
C'mon and grab your horseshoe
And throw it in the ring
Now the levee wall was breaking, rocks were rolling from the
ridge
The announcer broke in, saying there was a bus trapped on the bridge
So I turned my rig around, I was axle-deep in mud
And I found those people
stranded, the bridge was groaning in the flood
Still my radio was singing
I ain't sittin' in no shack
Got me a Ford right out the back
So come on and roll me over
If I ain't
there in nothing flat
With a honky-tonk attitude
I'll be doing the
straight line swing
C'mon and grab your horseshoe
And throw it in the ring
With the grinding of my engine, I hauled those people free
With the raging river rising, the driver came thanking me
So I told him about
the message; he said, That can't be right
The storm knocked out the radio
tower late last Saturday night
But through the static we heard singing
I ain't sittin' in
no shack
Got me a Ford right out the back
So come on and roll me over
If I ain't there in nothing flat
With a honky-tonk attitude
I'll be doing the straight line swing
C'mon and grab your horseshoe
And
throw it in the ring
Them old truckers gonna tell you down the lonely interstate
Out the dead air on the waveband, the Texas Playboys break
You'll hear a
keening voice, Bob Wills is with you as you drive
And you'll know you got a
broadcast straight from 1935
Can you hear him singing
I ain't sittin' in no shack
Got
me a Ford right out the back
So come on and roll me over
If I ain't there in nothing flat
With a honky-tonk attitude
I'll be doing the straight line swing
C'mon and grab your horseshoe
And
throw it in the ring
Cross of Love
Where does it say
All the love that we made must disappear
And who made the rule
That the one who is cruel won't cry the tears
Well
we woke up unsatisfied
Got out of bed and said goodbye
But don't leave me
here dyeing on the cross of love
Don't leave me here dyeing on the cross of
love
I got down on my knees and prayed to the lord above
Don't leave me
now don't you realize
You can't make out of love a sacrifice
Don't leave
me here dyeing on the cross of love
Who pays the cost
If the love that is
lost goes unredeemed
And why should I care
If this cross that I bare is
destiny
My heart was pure my love was strong
Forgive me if i've done you
wrong
But don't leave me here dyeing on the cross of love
Don't leave me
here dyeing on the cross of love
I got down on my knees and prayed to the
lord above
Don't leave me now don't you realize
You can't make out of love
a sacrifice
Don't leave me here dyeing on the cross of love
Where does it say
All the love that we made, must disappear
Radiation Ranch
You got me jumpin' like a cat strung up on a wire
Waiting
for the sandman to put me to sleep
I got a no show take it slow waiting for
the whistle blow
No where job on a dead end street
You ain't got a minute
when the siren sounds
Gotta get movin' to the underground
But I gotta
woman gonna love me through the night
Slippin' and slidin' and holding me
tight
Well here it comes again another Saturday night
Pour
another drink I hope I make it home allright
Oh boy oh boy gotta keep headin'
for the state line
Makin' time gotta meet a friend of mine
My old Ford
runs fine I gotta say
Got a new set of plugs I wish the rain would go away
A hundred U.F.O.'s by the Holiday Inn
I should really go to sleep but baby
here I go again
Well take me the hotel no one's there oh well
Whatever
happened to news on the radio
Every little place in this little town
Looks
like a bomb just leveled to the ground
Drivin' through Jersey headed for D.C.
look at all the boarded up factories
All the kings men have a summerhouse in
France
But you and me live on the radiation ranch
Passion Of The Night
Night time Breaks and so does my heart
It's beautifully
broken in two
Darkness falls, but the moonlight sparks
Longing and
yearning for you.
This is our story
Is this the glory of love?
It's hot
and it"s right
It's just the passion of the night
Prellbound and hellbound what do I care?
We all end up the
fool
Chasing, facing the struggle ahead
A game without rules
Is this our fight
Just what are we searching for?
I'm
ready to fight
For the passion of the night
So let it all crunble
Too late to be humble
As we
stumble
Home in the dawn
Why are we running?
Let's both use our cunning
The two
of us can't be so wrong
Sun shines in rather tentatively
As almost if to say
Sorry to burst your bubble my friend
Your blues are here to stay
I'll wait for the darkness
And think of the warmness of you
You know you can't fight
It's the passion of the night
That Mellow Saxophone
I wanna mambo, sambo, do my number
Hold my baby all the
summer
Every time I hear that mellow saxophone
I wanna rip it rock it, really bop it
Flip it, flop it,
Davy Crockett
Every time I hear that mellow saxophone
I wanna rock rock rock
Roll roll roll
Bop bop bop
I wanna rip it rock it, really bop it
Whoaaaaa, Davy
Crockett
Every time I hear that mellow saxophone
I wanna rock rock rock
Roll roll roll
Bop bop bop
Trouble Train
The trouble train is comin'
It's been rollin' through this
town
Since I don't know when
The trouble train they call it
And once
you're on it
You just can't get off it my friend
Don't get on that train again
It's rollin' and thunderin'
'Round the bend
If you hear the devil call your name
Don't get on that
trouble train
(Trouble train, trouble train)
If you hear the devil call
your name
Don't get on that trouble train
The trouble train is comin'
It's full of troubled souls
Who have gone astray
The trouble train is burnin'
It's puffing smoke and
fire
And it's headed your way
Now don't get on that train again
It's a long way down
Please listen my friend
If you hear the devil call your name
Don't get on
that trouble train
(Trouble train, trouble train)
If the devil's calling
out your name
He's riding on that trouble train
(Trouble train)
The trouble train's left the station
It's claimed another
soul
It'll come back again
The trouble train's damnation
Is a one-way
ticket to the fiery end
Don't get on that train again
It's a long way down
Please listen my friend
If you hear the devil call your name
Don't get on
the trouble train
Don't get on that train again
It's a long way down
Please listen my friend
If you hear the devil call your name
Don't get on
that trouble train
